"The United States is truly a melting pot of wonderful people who have come here to experence the American Dream  - Legally". Laws are designed to provide a hedge of protection around us all and should be enforced.

We have recently witnessed many of the unemployed in Alabama going to work to replace the illegal immigrants that have left our state as a result of the new state laws enacted in 2011. The new laws mirror the federal laws in most cases with the only difference being that they are enforced.

  1. It really isn't that hard to determine if someone is here illegally when they attempt to purchase a license plate for their automobile. A simple comparison of their driver's license or other identification is normally enough to weed out the illegals.
  2. Our national security depends on securing our borders and controlling the people within our borders. Our Homeland Security efforts should be weighted heavily with rangers and patrols along the border and for addressing emergencies and contingencies.
  3. The borders need to be secured absolutely, including fences, patrols, cameras, drone fly-overs, etc.
  4. American employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants should be fined and punished severely enough to stop the process. It really is that simple.
  5. English should be the official language of the United States and taught in schools. If people want to make America their home, they should learn English and have their children taught using the English language. If they want their children to also learn a foreign language, these classes have been taught in our schools for year.
  6. Of course the legal process to citizenship and visiting America should be streamlined while maintaining the security needed.
