I like having my calendar on Excel because I can add lines for each day if I need them. I can also spread the days and use landscape to print the calendar. I can roll backward or forward through the year and then only print the next week or two.

There are many other school calendars and computer calendar formats that you may prefer. They are all good. The key is to use them every day to record all future schedules and then refer to them often during the day to stay focused and on schedule.

BE ON TIME TO CLASS - 100% ATTENDANCE - SIT IN THE SECOND OR THIRD ROW - (I am repeating this from 2. above because it is so very important to your ability to excel and raise your grade average; and succeed in your career.)

1.  Many teachers give out review sheets for their exams and some give them out at the beginning of the class. If you are absent, or late, you may not remember to ask for the review sheet. The review sheet will improve your grade by at least one letter grade because it tells you what the teacher considers important.

2.  The key to success in all of life is to discover what is important to your teacher, your boss, your spouse, and everyone else in your sphere of life and influence.

3.  Being absent, being late, or just not paying attention to your teacher or your boss and co-workers creates a negative view of you; and you will miss out on keys to success in the classroom and your career.

4.  I reviewed the Final Review Sheet for Bus 146, Personal Financial Planning, today and it consisted of 22 questions (no answers). I am a CPA, and I promise you that I would improve my grade on the final by one or two grades by looking up the specific answers in the book for the Final. For example a few of the questions were:

What steps should one take in starting an investment program?

What are business risk, market risk, and investment risk?

What are the features of stocks and bonds?

What does buying on margin and selling short mean?

Steps to take in retirement planning?

Know what the Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank legislation are?

The final covers five chapters and 133 pages in the textbook. Just think how much better you would do on the final because you were prompt to class with 100% attendance and you were there when the teacher gave out the one page review sheets with the 22 questions for you to review. For example the chapters referenced many Government regulations; but you now know that the teacher thinks the Sarbanes Oxley and Dodd-Frank are the most important. And guess what, as a CPA, I know he is right - and now you know because you were diligent in: ATTENDANCE - BEING ON TIME - BEING ATTENTIVE IN CLASS - AND LEARNING WHAT WAS IMPORTANT TO THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN YOUR CLASS; YOUR TEACHER.
